The International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association’s (IFWTWA) prestigious Excellence Awards are awarded quarterly and recognize the best of the best in beverages, cruise, culinary, and hospitality around the world. The award nominations are recommended by IFWTWA members, carefully evaluated by IFWTWA’s Excellence Awards Committee, and finally approved by IFWTWA’s Board of Directors.
Erik Elvejord, Director of Public Relations for Holland America Line, earned IFWTWA’s Cruise Excellence Award for his consistently dependable follow through while assisting the IFWTWA arrange three conferences at sea. His flexibility, willingness and ability to help arrange all details small and large weighed heavily in this nomination. According to the IFWTWA member who nominated Erik, “I find him one who goes the extra measure to work with us. When he is traveling, he makes sure someone is assigned to follow up with any of our requests. After working with him for over four years on three different trips, I feel his outstanding follow through and representation of Holland America Line deserves recognition.”

What started out as a small group of prominent Frenchmen rating restaurants in 1956 is now a global network of journalists and photographers who cover the hospitality and lifestyle fields, and the people who promote them.
