Culinary Tour of Jordan March 2016

DSC00618Jordan is located in the Middle East and borders Syria, Saudi Arabia, the Red Sea, Palestine, Israel, and Iraq. Covering some 89,342 sq.km., it is located at 31 00 N, 36 00 E.

It is a complex country melding history, culture and 21st century moxy. It is the land of lost cities and epic adventures. It is called the “Switzerland of the Middle East” as it assures a peaceful and stable political climate and a perfect place to start a travelers exploration of the Middle East. Crime rates are among the lowest levels in the Middle East. Cities, attractions and shops are easily accessable and very safe.

Jordan - CulinaryIt was an extraordinary destination for nine talented and very lucky IFWTWA members. The 10-day press trip hosted by Visit Jordan featured the vibrant city life of Amman, Bedouin hospitality at its best, authentic culinary delights & cooking experiences, wine tasting, visits to the rose-red rock city of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and Wadi Rum, the desert T.E. Lawrence called “vast, echoing and God-like.” Also on the itinerary was the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth and the world’s largest open-air spa. Add that to visits to several holy sites, including Mount Nebo and Madaba and you indeed have the trip of a lifetime.
