Meet farmers, chefs, artists, libation crafters and experience the remarkable Pacific Northwest
Some of the most spectacular islands in the United States are found in the Pacific Northwest, about about one hour north of Seattle, Washington. This press trip transports writers back to a simpler time, when life was slow and easy. We’ll explore four islands. The pristine waters, forests and stunning landscapes are filled with wildlife and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Wander beaches and historic seaside villages. You’ll discover why the islands are home to many writers and artisans of every kind. Meet world class chefs, friendly farmers, talented winemakers, distillers, brewers, and glass blowers. Dine on fresh food from local farms and the surrounding Salish Sea, including world famous Penn Cove mussels. The rustic charm and first rate hospitality offer a feast for the senses and dozens of story ideas.
Who: up to 6 domestic and international IFWTWA journalists.
From our hosts’ perspectives, the ideal candidate will reach out to international or overseas readership.
Preference is given to those who write for international markets, or markets that are not within a day drive to the islands and readers who would fly in to Seattle before visiting the islands.
