Treasurer, Board Member, Chair of the Emerging Writer Program Committee
Susan Montgomery has been writing, editing and publishing throughout her career. Her topics are wide-ranging and include food, wine, travel and the arts. She has published several books, including a photo gift book, “What Really Matters Now,” which sold more than 30,000 copies around the world, and two artists’ biographies published by the University of Wisconsin and the Museum of Wisconsin Art. Susan and her husband, Todd, a professional photographer who is also an IFWTWA member, publish articles in a variety of publications, including Examiner.com, Tripatini, Wineormous and Temecula Night Out. During the month of May, they will be launching their own site, Life-Uncorked.com, which will focus on food, wine, travel and the arts.
Susan’s business and non-profit experience is extensive. Throughout her career, she has served on several non-profit boards and has started and managed two successful publishing companies. In these endeavors, she was involved in overseeing and managing budgets, and had fiduciary responsibilities. She has also worked in a writing and marketing capacity for advertising agencies.
Susan has a B.A. degree from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has also been an adjunct professor at Marquette and has graduated from Stanford University’s professional publishing course.
