Media Trips and Conferences
The following scheduled trips are for IFWTWA members only, become a member.
On this page we will be announcing very special trips and conferences to our members. Many will be limited in space so sign up early.
Check back often, as we will be announcing several trips this year.
Media Trips:
After the host provides a tentative itinerary of what they wish to showcase (subject to change), we set up an application and itinerary (see below). The host determines the length of the trip and the number of participants. The host also determines if a pre or post trip can be offered to a region. We do have several members who are team writers and share a room. The host determines which applicants to accept on the trip. Your credit card is not charged until registration is approved. We have a no clips, no future trips policy, and links, pdfs, videos, etc. are posted and continually updted on our Media Trip Results website. (This is a new blog and in the process of having clips added). We want our members to have as many unique experiences as possible and want hosts to have a return on their investment.
In many cases, airfare or an air allowance is included, in some cases it is not. That is spelled out with each trip. We do charge our members a registration fee, as we are a non-profit and doing all the work takes extra hours of labor we incur.
If you are interested in sponsoring an IFWTWA media trip, check out How to Sponsor a Media Trip.
Conferences:
All members are able to attend our conferences and bring a guest. In addition to professional development, we like to showcase as much of the area as possible. The cost of the conference depends a great deal on the sponsors we are able to secure. They are a hybrid conference, as they are part conference and part media trip. Air is not covered for conferences, but we try to negotiate discounts. We do expect at least one article some aspect of the conference from member attendees. If you would like to host a conference, please feel free to contact Maralyn D. Hill at maralyn@ifwtwa.org or Michelle M. Winner at michelle@ifwtwa.org.
